White House Park Design Opened For Public Suggestion

In line with the plan to enhance the design of the President’s Park South or the Ellipse near the White House, the National Capital Planning Commission is inviting the public to help in the design planning through a competition. The final design selected by the commission will aim to improve the look of the park as well as enhance the experience of every visitor. There will be designs created by five teams and these will be posted at the White House Visitor Center and online.  Architectural firms from different states like New York, San Francisco and Massachusetts are offering their proposals for the park. Google Claims Largest Network of Electric Car Charging Stations

Google has made a vast decision in providing more perks to its employees and encouraging a much greener living thanks to its manufacture of electric vehicle charging stations. Now, employees of Google enjoy free fuel for their electric cars. One of the biggest companies today, Google currently provides 200 charging stations and is planning to set up an addition of 250 charging stations soon. This aims to encourage Google employees to buy electric cars as they have free and convenient recharging of their electric cars. Google further aims to provide 5% of the parking spaces with electric vehicle charging stations for all its employees. GE Creates Powerful Solution for Gas Power Plants Efficiency

When it comes to eco-friendly solutions and alternative to coal, nothing is much better than utilizing natural gas. Due to its lower carbon emissions, power plants not only produces quality products but also find ways to help the environment. Yet, many natural gas power plants are not powerful enough to efficiently go beyond standard production. The new FlexEfficiency 50 design forms a way for gas power plants to competently produce power at efficient rate. Exclusively created by GE, it can convert about 61 percent of the energy found in the natural gas per cubic foot into electricity. In addition, it can ramp up production rate to 50 MW per minute. Washington DC Officially Announces “One City, Summer Fun” Program

The Banneker Recreation Center was very excited as Mayor Vincent Gray announced the One City, Summer Fun program in Washington DC. As a result, the entire city will have now have lots of activities and fun taking place all throughout summer. Even if the activities aim to bring enjoyment to all residents and visitors of DC, the main purpose of the program is to keep the city from possible crimes during the summer when many youth residents find themselves with “idle time”.
