Diety Stars Aug 7 to Sept 7, 2014

Dear Friends, Last month I tried to prepare you for the stars during August 7 to September 7, 2014. There is only one good direction this month, which is the South, and it is exceptional for relationships, so this is the only one we shall discuss. Therein the Southern direction resides the Harmony Deity, supported by three auxiliary stars and the “Open” Door, indicating that you must work to have the relationship you want. This is also a Water Monkey Month during a Horse Fire Year. Water puts out Fire, another indication of conflict. It may be hard to imagine a favorable outcome, but fortunately, the stars are aligned to assist those hearts and intentions that come from the right place. Don’t give up. I find it interesting that there is so much turmoil in the...

House Rules

My kids were so embarrassed by the list of rules that I had laminated at our front door for all their friends to see when they came to visit. They thought it was unnecessary and strange, considering no other parent took so much care in displaying the house rules in such a public manner. However, I had very good reason to put so much effort into making sure all rules were known and followed. Below are the top four which I always included in whatever home we lived in so we could better maintain our health and balance despite all the crazy that went along with living our ever changing, overseas lives. 1. Number one on this list as well as my laminated list was ALWAYS remove your shoes at the door. Symbolically, removing your shoes at the entrance makes your home a...

Dyersville Native’s Memoir Details Spiritual Journey

Germaine Parra’s unusual life at first does not seem so unusual. Born Mary Germaine Thier, Parra was the fourth of 11 children born in Dyersville to James and Marie Thier. Her childhood was firmly rooted in the duties of the family farm and in the firm precepts of the Catholic church. But following her graduation from Beckman High School in the late 1960s, Parra’s appetite for adventure took her far from home, first to study genetics in Chicago, Virginia and Europe and then to raise a family in unfamiliar cultures in Pakistan and Southeast Asia. During her adult life, Parra’s dealt with life-altering predicaments — including a heart attack at a young age while she lived in Karachi, Pakistan — and spiritual crises and revelations. She and her family have been at...

Easy FengShui Tips for Attracting, Nourishing and Keeping Love

1)     Don’t surround yourself with single imagery. For example: Avoid placing a single armchair in the corner of your home without placing another across from it for someoneto sit with. Instead, surround yourselves with pairs of everything. Paintings of lovers, two nightstands, two armchairs, two candles, numerous paintings in a hallway etc. 2)     Forget the walls! Your furniture should be arranged to support communication and never put directly against the wall. When arranging a seating area, focus instead on making sure the front legs of your sofa and chairs are on your rug (not just around it), and are facing one another so people will want to sit and talk. 3)     Add family photos! To improve your marriage or family life, fill your home with smiling pictures...

Four Quick and Easy Tips to Attract Wealth

In the metaphysical sciences, Wealth is known as having what you need when you need it. Therefore, the tips below are about attracting “Wealth” as much as they are about attracting money. 1)     The stove, which is a Fire element, is directly related to one’s wealth, particularly money.Consequently, the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the house. If you’re looking to attract more prosperity, make sure your stove is clean and that all your burners work, and are used equally. Keep your pantry and refrigerator organized and stored with food that you actually eat, and please toss food out if it becomes expired. 2)     Color has a huge impact on mood, and is used often in FengShui to attract various energies.
