Feng Shui Tips for Your Front Door

Feng Shui Tips for Your Front Door

Your front door creates one of the first impressions of your home. It is the primary entrance to your home, and in terms of Feng Shui, the front door is of great importance because it creates the path where the main Chi, or energy, enters your home. As long as your front door is inviting and in good condition, positive energy can smoothly enter your home and bring in wealth, love, and happiness for everyone inside.

Feng Shui offers several ways to enhance your front door. Here are a few tips:

  • De-clutter the area surrounding your front door. This includes your front porch, your front yard, and the pathway leading to your front door. Clutter creates an obstruction for positive energy. If there is clutter everywhere, positive chi will find it hard to enter your home.
  • Do not allow chi to pass straight to your back door. This will happen if your front door is directly facing your back door. Allow positive energy to remain inside your home and not easily exit by creating a barrier between your front door and your back door.
  • Make your front door fresh and beautiful. A fresh coat of paint will make your front door look inviting. Decorate your front door as well with lovely fresh flowers or plants on the side. Add a wind chime to make your door bright and cheery and entice positive energy to enter.
  • Paint your front door based on the Five Elements that reflect the compass direction it faces. For instance, a North front door should have a water element of black or blue. West front doors should have a metal element of white, silver, or gold. Southeast front doors should have a wood element of green.
  • Keep your front door unobstructed and fully functional. Do not allow any obstructions to get in the way of fully opening your front door. In addition, make sure to do repairs on broken hinges and hardware immediately.
  • Make your front door open inward. Your main door should also be solid and protective and not made of glass panels.

Encourage more positive energy to enter your home with an inviting front door.  By doing so, you will enjoy more good luck, happiness, and success in your life.
